A conference on the science and technology of traditional medicine and healthcare products was held in the White Cloud International Convention Center in Guangzhou, China on November 9-11, 2009. The conference was organzied through the cooperation of 14 national government ministries, including the Ministry of Research and Technology, Ministry of Health, and the State Committee on Traditional Medicine in cooperation with the World Health Organization (www.who.int/en) and the provincial government of Guangdong.
The conference gathered together more than 2,800 participants, including scientists, business executives, and state representatives from more than 18 countries. The subject of the conference was "Global Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Traditional Methods of Healing and Healthcare Products". Professor Xu Mingtang of the Beijing Kundawell Medical Research Institute was invited as a keynote speaker to address the conference on the practice of Image Medicine.
December 23-25, 2009 Professor Xu Mingtang, together with his colleagues, participated in a similar Chinese government ministry conference in Shanghai where he also spoke at length on the practice of Image Medicine. Together with 19 other specialists, Professor Xu was recognized for major contributions to the development of traditional Chinese medicine (for outstanding healing techniques) at this conference.
At both conferences the Kundawell team was represented by the following experts and students of the institute: Flyura Kuznetsova, Tatyana Fogel, Maya Ozolina, Yekaterina Krylova, and Anna Rekun. They demonstrated Image Medicine diagnostic methods that greatly interested many of the participants. This interest resulted in a large turnout of traditional Chinese medical professionals at the Third Image Medicine Seminar held on November 20-22, 2009 at Kundawell Institute in Beijing, China.
